Proper shoe storage is important to help maintain the shape, quality, and longevity of your shoes. We’ve already talked about how you can take care of your leather shoes in a previous blog post, but now we want to tell you a little bit about shoe storage! There’s not one single way to store shoes, but there are certain measures you can take to make sure your shoes will last as long as possible. Here are some tips!

Always wait for them to dry
This is annoying during snowy or rainy months, but it’s essential to prevent shoes from deteriorating. Make sure your shoes are completely dry before storing them.

Use clear boxes
Boxes are a great option for storing shoes, as they provide protection from dust and light. Use clear plastic boxes and label them so you can easily find the shoes you're looking for.

Use shoe racks
Shoe racks are a convenient way to store shoes, and they allow for air circulation which can help prevent odors.

Avoid direct sunlight
Direct sunlight can fade and damage shoes, so avoid storing them in areas where they will be exposed to sunlight for extended periods of time.

Keep them away from pets
Pets can damage shoes by scratching or chewing on them, so keep your shoes in a place where pets can't reach them.

Store them in a cool, dry place
This will help prevent damage to the shoes and prevent them from developing odors. If you live in a very humid place, a dehumidifier is an effective way to remove excess moisture from the air in your closet.

Don't overcrowd the closet

(If you have to) stack shoes properly

Be creative
